Home saunas

Having a sauna at home makes it easier for you to relax, unwind and get all the health benefits of the sauna without the need of having to go to a spa or gym.

COVID has changed our way of life; having a home sauna allows you not to worry about sharing the sauna with other people (aside from the people that live with you). You can decide the temperature and humidity that work for you and your health objectives. That is why home saunas have become an increasing trend.

As the technology continues to improve, installing a home sauna like a DIY kit or portable sauna has become so much simpler and accessible.

Another benefit of having your home sauna is the features that come with it, from chromotherapy (color therapy)  programs designed to help you increase your overall wellbeing to the option of controlling your sauna heater from your phone and being able to schedule your session in advance.

There are several home saunas to choose from; DIY sauna kits, portable saunas (indoor or outdoor), prefab saunas, Himalayan salt saunas, and infrared saunas. Infrared saunas share similarities with traditional saunas, especially regarding health benefits. But the way they distribute heat is entirely different. Infrared heaters give "direct heat" (infrared light) to your body while the traditional ones heat the air in the sauna.

Types of home saunas

The main types of home saunas you can buy are prefab saunas, pre-cut saunas, portable saunas, DIY sauna kits, Himalayan salt saunas, and infrared saunas.

Prefab Sauna is a freestanding, self-contained room designed to be installed in a fast and simple way. A prefab sauna can put it anywhere you have an open space. The area of your choice needs to have a waterproof floor.

Pre-cut Saunas: are the complete sauna kits available. You choose the size and style, and we provide everything required to complete the project. Our pre-cut saunas ship with all necessary parts & pieces for the interior/exterior, including wood, door, heater, vents, lighting, wiring, and hardware.

DIY Sauna Kits: are entirely customizable kits; they are fabricated in any shape or size depending on your wants or needs; you can choose the type of wood, flooring, door, and more. It can be more expensive than a prefab sauna.

Himalayan Salt Saunas are unique pre-cut saunas with Himalayan Salt Panels that increase the sauna's health benefits.

Infrared Saunas are not sauna per se, they both have the same environment but function differently; infrared saunas use full-spectrum infrared heaters and allow for the heat to penetrate deeper into the skin. They also function at lower temperatures than any of the saunas mentioned above, which will enable you to do longer sauna sessions.

Infrared home saunas

Infrared saunas are called saunas. However, a more accurate description would be an infrared therapy cabin. The main difference between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna is the heat source; infrared saunas don't use gas, wood, or electric heaters; they use full-spectrum infrared heaters. The quality of the infrared heat is more important than the air temperature.

Your body absorbs the infrared heat and increases thermal energy inducing a relaxing and deep sweat.

You can stay longer than a traditional sauna with an infrared sauna (due to the lower temperature) and get more benefits.

Infrared heaters give "direct heat" to your body while the traditional ones heat the air in the sauna. On this type of sauna the heat feels different throughout your body, you feel the direct heat where the infrared light hits you. In a traditional sauna you feel the heat more evenly, since the heat it comes from the air.

Indoor saunas

Indoor saunas are a popular choice; you can make an indoor sauna fit in almost any place inside your home: your bedroom, bathroom, basement, or gym. Indoor saunas come in various options in size and capacity. You can choose from a small two-person sauna to an eight-person sauna.

You can find the main types of indoor saunas for sale: prefab saunas, pre-cut saunas, DIY sauna kits, Himalayan salt saunas, and infrared saunas.

DIY home sauna kits

DIY sauna kit is a package that contains all the necessary materials to build a home sauna. It is what we would call "the inside skin of the sauna."

Sauna Kits can be installed wherever you decide in your home; you can place them in your bedroom, bathroom, basement, or any room you have available. A sauna kit can also be installed outdoor in a shed or cabana.

The material kits are designed and customized to meet your project needs; they can be manufactured in any shape or size. Most sauna kits are made of Grade A Cedar Wood, considered the best wood for a sauna.

The installation time will depend on the size of the sauna. On average, the sauna kits are installed in 1 or 2 days tops.
